About Us

Basic Health International (BHI) is a global health organization dedicated to expanding access to high-quality, equitable healthcare for underserved populations. Through an integrated approach that combines clinical research, program implementation, provider education, and direct patient care, BHI works to strengthen health systems and improve outcomes in resource-limited settings. By partnering with local institutions, governments, and international organizations, BHI ensures that its programs are evidence-based, culturally responsive, and designed for long-term sustainability. Its work is rooted in the belief that access to timely, effective healthcare is a fundamental right, and that lasting impact is achieved through collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to the communities it serves.

Our Mission & Vision

Mission

We develop and implement evidence-based, scalable solutions to prevent, detect, and treat cervical cancer in low-resource settings, working alongside communities to strengthen health systems and expand access to lifesaving care.

Vision

A world where no woman dies from cervical cancer, regardless of where she lives.

1. Scientific & Academic Research

We conduct rigorous scientific and academic research to test, validate, and refine novel cervical cancer prevention strategies. Our research focuses on identifying approaches that improve early detection and treatment while remaining feasible in real-world health systems.

This includes:

  • Evaluating high-performance HPV screening technologies
  • Studying self-collection and alternative screening models to reach under-screened populations
  • Generating evidence to inform national and global policy decisions

By partnering with academic institutions, ministries of health, and clinical researchers, we ensure that our findings contribute to the global evidence base and directly inform practice.
